The Dubai Expo 2020
The World Expo tradition goes back
to the first World Fair held 1851
These mega events spur commerce and scientific development while creating new links between nations. Dubai has won the right to host the World Expo in 2020, and is exploring the theme of “Connecting Minds, Exploring the Future.” The event is expected to draw 25 million visitors to Dubai over 6 months – many of whom will stay and catalyse new business opportunities to expand the economy. The future Expo2020 site is situated in New Dubai near the Dubai Investment Park, Jebel Ali Free Zone, and Dubai World Central Airport. It is serving as a powerful boost for real estate in the vicinity.
Investors and residents near the Expo can expect capital gains and rent increases as the event draws closer. Expo 2020 is also delivering a longer-term boost to Dubai’s economy – with developments worth at least USD 100 million already allocated. The government is deploying a number of grants, prizes and knowledge sharing events to spark innovation, and the event is expected to add 200,000 permanent jobs to the economy.
